As the state affiliate with the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts is pleased to announce a special opportunity for our state’s best orchestral musicians ages 15 through 20 – an opportunity to be selected as Louisiana’s representative at the 2011 National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute, June 27 through July 25, in Washington, DC.
Through a process outlined in the application information, up to five students will be selected as finalists from Louisiana. Their audition recordings will be sent to Washington where a final selection of 2011 participants will be made, hopefully including one from Louisiana. The only cost to participate in the Summer Music Institute is transportation to and from Washington. However, the financial aid application can be completed for consideration to provide for that cost as well.
