Louisiana’s Young Musicians Invited To Audition National Symphony Summer Music Institute

As the Louisiana affiliate with the Kennedy Center Arts Alliance Education Network, the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts invites Louisiana musicians ages 15 to 20 to audition for a place in the National Symphony Orchestra’s 2012 Summer Music Institute. The Institute, July 2 – 30, offers four weeks of private lessons, rehearsals, coaching by National Symphony Orchestra members, classes, and lectures to prepare aspiring musicians for their futures in music.

All students selected to participate in the 2012 Summer Music Institute attend on full scholarship, so there is no cost for lessons, room and board, and local transportation Information about financial aid for travel to Washington, audition repertoire, and an application are available at http://www.kennedy-center.org/nso/nsoed/smi.
